Interview

What makes you different?

Being 16 years old, I became a part of 2024 Davis Cup Armenia team, played 3 single matches and brought decisive points to the team to move from Group 4 to Group 3. I became a Champion of Armenia in adults in 2023, at the age of 15 and reconfirmed the title in 2024 by winning in both singles and doubles. I got 21 titles from Tennis Europe Junior Tour and 4 titles from ITF Juniors.
I am a left-handed player, which gives me some advantage towards right-handed opponents. According to one of my coaches, Sargis Sargsyan, former ATP # 38, I am a hard worker and a good match player, who is competitive and fights to win each point.

Why do you want to compete in college?

While my focus is on tennis, coming from a family with high academic values I have a strong belief that broadening my educational horizons would make me a better athlete and a better person. I believe that D1 college tennis program will provide a perfect environment full of challenges and development opportunities for me to advance in both tennis and academic studies.

Tennis and Life goals?

My tennis goal is to be in the top 50 ATP, and all in all to see how far I can go. I enjoy the journey of a tennis player and try my best to keep my education at a high level. While being concentrated on my tennis career, in college I will be able to find additional area of interest and define long-term goals accordingly.

My tennis goal is to be in the top 50 ATP.
